Meet the hummingbird team

Tianna Dean is the founder and CEO of Hummingbird Candle Company. At Hummingbird, she strives to promote self-care by providing unique and fun experiences during their BYOB Candle Making Workshops, create fair wage jobs by hiring Womxn to hand pour luxury eco-friendly coconut wax candles, and to always be an activist by giving back to organizations that support women both locally and globally. Because she has so much spare time, her and her best friend who happens to be her husband decided 6 was a good number to shoot for when having children. Her greatest accomplishment has been raising and watching them blossom into world changers.

Hello I’m Sesselie but friends usually just call me Sess! I love meeting new interesting people who are open to learning about each other’s journey in life. I love to sing and that I do lol Traveling is becoming a new favorite of mine as I would love to see the world. A straight shooter with a loyal soul and heart of gold. God is very important in my life and I always try to reflect His light and love.

My name Is Kristin Suggs. I am the Wholesale and Productions Manager here at Hummingbird Candle Company. I am originally from Fayetteville, NC (where our first location is). I started when this company about a year ago after needing a break from my career working as a surgical tech in the operating room. I missed doing the things I enjoyed, being creative, spending time with the people I cared about, and just living. Coming to Hummingbird gave me all of that. Within this short year that I have been with Hummingbird I quit my hospital career, moved to Asheville to get our second store running, broke into the wholesale market, but most importantly I gained an amazing family. The group of women I work with inspire me every single day and I can’t wait to see how much we can grow. We are so grateful for you because of how much you love and believe in our products and what we stand for!

I started working for Tianna back in August 2018 after finding her and her husband’s business on Instagram. Originally from the midwest, I moved south for art school and met my now-husband. When we were stationed in Fayetteville, I went looking for an outlet to meet people. I never would have thought that my little part-time job would have led to an incredible opportunity to pursue a creative and flexible career. I was there when Tianna first decided that she wanted to start her candle line, when we came up with the name Hummingbird Candle Company, when we launched our first products, and I can’t wait to see where else Hummingbird flies off to.
