Wondering what to expect during a workshop?!?
No worries we've got all your questions covered below!!

How much does a candle making experience cost??

The base price for a candle making experience is $45. You pay a $20 reservation fee online to hold your seat and the remaining balance is due in-store at the end of your experience. We do this so that you have the opportunity to shop our Upgrade Vessel Wall, add eco-friendly plastic free glitters and dyes, crystals, and colorful wicks to your candle creations! You will get to make a candle almost as beautiful and unique as you are! Every experience includes super fun hands-on tutorial, step by step instruction on how to pick your signature fragrance and you will hand pour one luxurious coconut oil based 9 oz. candle. On average, our new chandlers (aka YOU) spends about $60-72 when including upgrades like larger vessels, eco-glitters, dyes, crystals, and colorful wicks.

Are you a luxury girly, bougie babe, or candle snob??

We have a plethora of upgrades to ensure that you leave with a candle that no one else has. You're not required to upgrade but you'll definitely want to! WE THINK BEYONCE SAID IT BEST: LET ME CATER TO YOU! (+ WHEN YOU'RE READY) LET ME UPGRADE YOU...You have the opportunity to shop our Upgrade Vessel Wall filled with colorful vessels at different sizes and prices, add eco-friendly plastic free glitters and dyes, crystals, and colorful wicks to your candle creations at an additional cost. You also receive 10% off any premade signature candles purchased after your experience.

How long does the Candle Making Experience last?

Our Candle Making Experiences vary by group. Most days (Thursday, Friday, and Sunday) our experiences are scheduled to last up to an hour and a half. However, we extended our Saturday experiences to up to two hours to accommodate for our larger parties and heavier traffic flow.

What's the Vibe?

Hummingbird's goal is to create an experience that is a break from reality, the thing you will be talking about for weeks, and a party where EVERYONE has a good time. We like our music turned up and our people too. This can be a boozy experience (wine and beer only), but ALL are welcome. By the end of this experience, our goal is for every person in that store to feel connected to one another. We love our people (clients and employees) and we believe everyone deserves respect. Our Hummingbird locations are all about sharing love and connection. We do not tolerate hate.

What's the best time to visit?

We love to party at HB! Exploring our 30 scent candle library and pouring your own custom candle wether solo, on a date night, or with a group of friends...it can be a totally transformative experience. But each of these events are a different vibe and here's the inside scoop on the best time to visit for each. Need some "Me" time and looking for a more laid back and less crowded experience...Thursday and Friday days are our least busiest times of the week. Planning a Date Night..a visit on a Saturday Evening if you want to meet new people and make new friends OR an early Sunday class if you want a more low key experience. Ready to party with the Girls...Friday and Saturday Afternoons and Evenings the music is bumpin' and so is the crowd. It's always a good time and a chance to meet new people! At HB we always say come as strangers and leave as friends.

Everyday is something new, and we can't guarantee every day will be the same. However, these are the trends we have experienced over time.

Should we tip our Chandler?

Absolutely!! Our Chandlers work really hard to make sure your time at Hummingbird Candle Co is LIT! YOU really light our FIRE and if we light yours tips are always appreciated!

We do reserve the right to add a 18% gratuity to parties of 5 or more.

OH NO We are running late and we have a reservation...what should we do?!?

No worries! We understand sometimes things happen. We have a 10 minute grace period in order to be courteous to other reservations. If you aren't able to make it within 10 minutes of your reservation we are happy to reschedule you so that your party isn't rushed and can get the most out of your experience!

We do not give refunds for cancellations but we will do our best to accommodate your group at a later date and time. You can reschedule once without losing your deposit. Just give your reservation location a call or email us at heyfriend@hummingbirdcandleco.com

Can I bring my own drinks to the candle making experience?

Absolutely! We believe in adding a dash of fun to our candle-making sessions. So, bring along your favorite beverage to sip on while you get creative with wax and wicks. We like to call it BYOB (Bring Your Own Booze)! You BYOB and cups (if you forget yours we do have extra). We don't have access to ice but we do have marble wine bottle chillers. (in limited quantities so get here early). Other than that grab a friend or two and we will provide the rest!

Are there any restrictions on the types of drinks we can bring?

We do have a few guidelines to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience. While we encourage a lively and festive atmosphere, we kindly ask that you refrain from bringing hard liquor to the session. So, feel free to bring wine, beer, or your favorite boozy concoctions—just remember to keep it light and refreshing!

Can we get a little tipsy while we make candles?

We want you to have a fantastic time, but we also value safety and a positive environment for all our guests. So, while we encourage a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere, we kindly request that you enjoy your beverages responsibly. We believe in striking the perfect balance between a fun and creative experience without crossing the line into drunkenness.

Can we bring food and snacks?

We love to see our guests enjoying themselves, but due to space limitations during our public experiences, we kindly ask that you refrain from bringing food. We want to ensure there's enough room for everyone to create their beautiful candles comfortably. Don't worry, though—we've got you covered with our Private Events! When you book a private event you will have the entire shop to yourself for 3 hours and can bring food and decorations!

When can I use the awesome candles I just made?

With our new experience flow, your candle will be ready to take home with you immediately following your class! Just be sure to properly trim your wick to 1/4" before burning for the first time PLUS the first time your light your candle is a memory burn and should last 2-4 hours.

How old do you have to be to attend?

Candle-Making is a fun and unique experience and we welcome ages 7 and up!! Our wax is poured at over 150 degrees! Now that's almost as HOT as you are ;) That being said our candle making experiences are intended for adults and responsible young adults. Children must have a parent or guardian present to pour their wax.

We welcome children 7 and and older for our daytime experiences ( before 4pm).

Our evening (5pm and later) classes are 18 and older. (Because let's face it...sometimes Momma and Daddy need a break)

OH NO something came up and I need to cancel my class...what do I do?

We do not give refunds for cancellations but we will do our best to accommodate your group at a later date and time. You can reschedule once without losing your deposit. Just call your reservation location with a new date and time in mind and we will do our best to get you back on the books for a future candle-making experience.
