Wondering what to expect during our kid's candle camp?!?
No worries we've got all your questions covered below!!

How much does a candle making experience cost??

You pay a $25 reservation fee online, no other remaining balance. We do this so that you can drop off your little, no additional payments, fees, or handing off cash to your camper. Your camper will get to make a candle almost as beautiful and unique as they are! Every candle camp experience includes super fun hands-on tutorial, step by step instruction on how to pick their signature fragrance and hand pour one yummy coconut oil based 9 oz. candle. Glitter is included in the $25 price!

I am a parent/guardian... can I stay for camp??

Absolutely. However, any parent/guardian or child outside the ages of 7-13 should also be making a candle too. Anyone staying in the shop for the hour and a half needs to be a participant and purchase their own $25 ticket.

How long does the Candle Making Experience last?

Our Candle Camp is scheduled to last up to an hour and a half (11:45am-1:15). We take the first 10 minutes to check in the campers. We expect our candle making to be completed by 1:15pm and all campers must be picked up by 1:30pm. Just like our regular classes, we have a ten minute grace period. Our Hummingbird locations will lock their doors once the ten minutes are up and will not unlock the doors until pickup to ensure the safety of our campers.

What's the Vibe?

It's an immersive and joy-filled atmosphere where campers can make new friends, learn a new skill, participate in karaoke, candle bingo, and create lasting memories. We like our music turned up and have our kids friendly playlist on at the very start of camp. Give yourself a break and give your kids an experience they'll talk about for the rest of the summer.

What safety measures are we taking for campers?

While adult participation or supervision is not required, we kindly request that parents or guardians complete a participation waiver for their child and have their ID present at the time of pick-up. Our doors will lock and remain locked after the ten minute grace period. The store will open back up to the public at 1:30pm and all campers must be picked up by that time. We also have the option to opt into SMS updates where parents/guardians will receive a reminder for pickup and have direct communication with our stores.

 

OH NO We are running late and we have a reservation...what should we do?!?

No worries! We understand sometimes things happen. We have a 10 minute grace period in order to be courteous to other reservations. If you aren't able to make it within 10 minutes of your reservation we are happy to reschedule you so that your party isn't rushed and can get the most out of your experience!

We do not give refunds for cancellations but we will do our best to accommodate your group at a later date and time. You can reschedule once without losing your deposit. Just give your reservation location a call or email us at heyfriend@hummingbirdcandleco.com

When can my camper use the awesome candle they just made?

With our new experience flow, their candle will be ready to take home with them immediately following camp! Just be sure they properly trim their wick to 1/4" before burning for the first time PLUS the first time they light their candle is a memory burn and should last 2-4 hours. 

How old do you have to be to attend?

Candle Camp is a fun and unique experience and was created for campers ages 7-13! However, children under the age of 7 must have a parent or guardian present to pour their wax. That parent must also be a paid participant for camp, and will pour their child and their own wax which is poured at over 150 degrees. Camper over the age of 13 are also welcome to participate at HB Camp.

 

OH NO something came up and I need to cancel my class...what do I do?

We do not give refunds for cancellations but we will do our best to accommodate your group at a later date and time. You can reschedule once without losing your deposit. Just call your reservation location with a new date and time in mind and we will do our best to get you back on the books for a future candle-making experience.
