Wondering what to expect during a Boozy Candle Making Experience?!? No worries we've got all your questions covered below!!
What do I get for $55??
A super fun hands-on experience, step by step instruction on how to pick your signature fragrance, you will choose from 30 and hand pour one luxurious coconut oil based 9 oz. candle (that will give you 80hrs of burn time), new chandler status, therefore, bragging rights (Chandler is a fancy word for professional candle maker), and selfies that will make even your most "fancy" Instagram friends jealous! You also receive 10% off any shopping done during your class. The experience time varies by group size but now more than 1.5-2 hours for any group and then an additional 2 hours for your candle to cool (you can explore our downtown area or grab a bite to eat while you wait! Or pick them up the next day we are open/have them shipped if you are from out of town!
The rate for all meters is $1.50 per hour. Longer term parking is available in our parking lots and parking garages. Payment at parking meters is required between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Payment is not required on Sundays, nor designated City Holidays.
Just as a reminder, the host/hostess, are able to come in 30 minutes before your event to set up and food, drinks, and/or decorations for your guests. There is a 10 min parking loading and unloading area directly in front of Dobra Tea on Lexington Ave, just a few doors down for easy loadind and unloading.
Should we tip our Chandler?
Absolutely!! Our Chandlers work really hard to make sure your time at Hummingbird Candle Co is LIT! YOU really light our FIRE and if we light yours tips are always appreciated and help us push towards our mission of economic equity for Womxn! For Private Events gratuity is included.
Are Masks Required?
Masks are not required at this time but are always welcome! We want you to be comfortable! Our candles are fragrant enough to be smelled through your mask and your entire experience can be enjoyed while wearing your masks!
OH NO We are running late and we have a reservation...what should we do?!?
No worries! We understand sometimes things happen. We have a 15 minute grace period in order to be courteous to other reservations. If you aren't able to make it within 15 minutes of your reservation we are happy to reschedule you so that your party isn't rushed and can get the most out of your experience!
It says BYOB/BYOF what else should we bring?
You BYOB and BYOF and any glasswear and paper products needed to enjoy your libations and snacks. We don't have access to ice but we do have marble wine bottle chillers. (in limited quantities).
When can I use the awesome candles I just made?
Your candle will need to take a rest with us overnight and will be ready to pick up the very next day. If you are in town for a visit we will gladly ship your candles to you for a $12 flat rate.
Oh NO something came up and I need to cancel my experience! What do I do?
Trust us we understand sometimes things happen. Cancellations are accepted up to 48 hours prior to your class for a full refund. If you need to change class dates just contact the store directly up to 48 hours prior.
